Watch Bruce Springsteen Cover 'Royals'

International media are frothing over Bruce Springsteen's cover of Lorde's hit single Royals during the first of his two shows at Western Springs Stadium on the weekend.

The Boss is renowned for covering a local hit while touring, so his impending visit had fans guessing which track he would tackle from New Zealand's back catalogue. Rolling Stone said Springsteen has made some surprising choices over the years, but he "topped himself" with the choice to cover Lorde's number one single and compared it to songs cut during his Nebraska sessions.

While the mash-up has impressed folk around the globe, it no doubt caused a few eye-rolls over this way with many hoping for something a little more original/appropriate. Check out the video below and see what you think...
