Pacific Music Awards 2014 Finalists Announced

The finalists for the Pacific Music Awards 2014 have been revealed and Ladi6, David Dallas and opera group Sol3 Mio are contending for the coveted prize of Best Pacific Music Album.

Out of 10 possible categories soul singer Ladi6 is nominated for five awards, including Best Pacific Female Artist, Best Pacific Song, Pacific Urban Artist and Best Music Video. Rapper David Dallas is also nominated in five categories, crossing paths with Ladi6 not only for best album, but also Best Pacific Music Video, Best Pacific Song, Best Pacific Urban Artist. He is also being eyed-up for Best Pacific Male Artist. Relative newcomers Sol3 Mio are up for two awards, as well as Best Pacific Album, the chart-topping trio have been nominated for Best Pacific Group.

Also included in the finalists is King Kapisi, Mark Vanilau, Bella Kalolo and BrownHill. This year's awards have a new category of Best International Pacific Artist Award to recognise Pacific Musicians living elsewhere in the world. The inaugural finalists are Fiji, Kalaga'la and Spawnbreezie.

The annual awards, which are now in their 10th year, will be held on May 8 at Vodafone Events Centre in Manukau. See below for the full list of finalists.
