Video: Block (The National) Party Featuring Street Chant
A video composed of footage from the weekend's Block (The National) Party has been emerged, set to audio of Street Chant covering Blam Blam Blam's iconic track 'There Is No Depression in New Zealand'. The event, which was organised by advocacy group Auckland Action Against Poverty, was held outside the National Party Ball in Auckland on Saturday and featured live performances from Street Chant and Totems. The sound on the video appears to be taken off Street Chant's 2013 EP Isthmus of One-Thousand Lovers (rather than a live version from the gig) and then laid over shots of National Party supporters arriving at the ball, police guarding hotel, megaphone-wielding protesters and the bands playing outside while party-goers peer down from a balcony.
