Meat Puppets New Zealand Tour Cancelled

Meat Puppets New Zealand Tour Cancelled

Wednesday 7th May, 2014 11:10AM

Sadly Meat Puppets' New Zealand shows later this month have been cancelled due to visa/immigration issues and tour scheduling. There is hope that they will tour next year instead but for desperate fans, their Australian dates are going ahead as scheduled.

Meat Puppets New Zealand Tour  - CANCELLED

Thursday 22nd May, Bodgea, Wellington
Friday 23rd May, Kings Arms, Auckland

TICKET HOLDERS:

We will be refunding ticket holders over the next week. If you purchased tickets via our retailers in Auckland (Real Groovy) and Wellington (Slow Boat and RPM) please get in touch via our helpdesk - www.undertheradar.co.nz/support - and likewise, make contact here if you have any questions/concerns.

Press Release:

It's with heavy hearts and many organizational nightmares that the Meat Puppets & organizers made the difficult decision to cancel their New Zealand dates coming up later this month.

The legendary "Pupps" were due to play Wellingtons Bodega on May 22nd and The Kings Arms in Auckland on the 23rd.

Although every effort was made to reschedule the dates, unfortunately due to potential immigration/visa issues, playing the two dates in New Zealand could have jeopardized their upcoming Australian Tour and further touring plans.

The band and organizers are gutted and send out heartfelt apologies to the Meat Puppets fans in New Zealand who had already purchased tickets. They also want to thank the amazing array of kiwi bands that emailed for support.

Undertheradar.co.nz will provide refunds over the next week.

The band hope to return bringing their legendary catalogue of stories in 2015 - watch this space.

In the meantime,  check out this great two part mini doco on the band. Makes for a fascinating watch...
