Weekly Round Up: Friday 18th July

It's been a busy week of tour announcements rolling in, here's the score: August will bring musician and author Kristin Hersh (of Throwing Muses and 50 Foot Wave) to New Zealand for two musical performances across Wellington and Auckland, as well as an appearance at the Christchurch Writer and Readers Festival. In the same month, California beat-maker Teebs will be heading over to play a one-off show at new Auckland venue Neck Of The Woods with local artist Haan808. Crossing the ditch in September will be deadpan folk songstress Courtney Barnett for one performance in Auckland (hopefully she will be back again!). Also heading to New Zealand for the first time is American punk rocker NOBUNNY, who is bringing with him two-piece The Hussy for two September dates. Local electronic artist The Nomad will be making his way around the country for an extensive tour in September to support the release of his new album simply titled 7. In October, rapper Schoolboy Q is heading back to New Zealand, having just been here last month the upcoming trip will see him hit Christchurch and Dunedin for the first time, as well as returning to Wellington. Unfortunately for fans of Toxic Holocaust and Iron Reagan the tour planned for November has been cancelled, ticketholders can head over here for more information. And, to end on a high note, the lineup for Rhythm and Alps has been revealed and will see Chet Faker, MØ, Mad Professor, Zane Lowe, Doprah, Shapeshifter, Team Dynamite and many more joining the New Year's festivities in Wanaka.
