Thursday 24th July, 2014 9:02AM

English indie rock act Elbow is returning to Auckland for one show in November. The group's upcoming visit follows the release of the group's sixth studio album The Take Off and Landing of Everything, which came out in March. Last time they were in the country was in 2012 tickets when to their first show were snapped up within hours, so the group put on a second performance the next night for fans that missed out. Here's the details for their November show...

Elbow Auckland Show
Saturday 1st November, The Powerstation, Auckland SOLD OUT
Sunday 2nd November, The Powerstation, Auckland

Here's the video for recent single 'New York Morning'...

One of England’s finest bands, ELBOW will showcase their sublime sound and grace in an intoxicating live performance when they return to New Zealand in November to perform at The Powerstation in Auckland.

The tour follows the release of their latest musical masterwork, ‘The Take Off and Landing of Everything’.

Elbow produce live shows as brilliantly as they do albums. Revered for their emotive tunes, they craft melodies simultaneously rousing and melancholy; rich layers of orchestration skillfully intertwined with beautifully eloquent, sentimental lyrics, highlighted by Guy Garvey’s almost angelic, unmistakably Mancunian vocals.

Recently completing a UK arena tour and currently playing select festival dates, including last month’s Glastonbury festival and upcoming V Festival dates, Elbow return after an absence of more than two years for one Auckland show followed by dates in Melbourne, Brisbane and at the iconic Sydney Opera House.

Tickets will go on sale 10.00am Friday August 1.

My Live Nation members can be amongst the first to purchase tickets during the exclusive pre-sale beginning 11.00am this Monday, July 28. For complete details, visit:

Elbow’s sixth studio album, ‘The Take Off and Landing of Everything’ (out now through Universal Music), delivered the band the highest charts debuts of their career including the top spot in both the UK and Ireland, and top 30 on the New Zealand RIANZ Album chart.

Elbow has consistently delivered superb albums: 2011’s release ‘Build A Rocket Boys!’, the million selling ‘The Seldom Seen Kid’, ‘Leaders of the Free World’, ‘Cast of Thousands’ and back where it all began with their 2001 debut, ‘Asleep In the Back’.

The band has received critical acclaim and garnered numerous awards including two Ivor Novello awards plus Brit, South Bank Show Pop and NME awards, as well as the Mercury Music Prize. In further acknowledgement of their popular and critical respect, the band recorded the BBC’s theme tune for the London Olympics Games and performed at the Closing Ceremony filling the stadium with two anthemic songs: ‘Open Arms’ and the Mojo Magazine’s Song of 2009, ‘One Day Elbow is, and always has been: Guy Garvey on vocals, Mark Potter on guitar, Pete Turner on bass, Craig Potter on keyboards and Richard Jupp on drums, and performing together on stage they are not be missed.
