Holy moly it's August already! The last week of July was pretty dry in terms of tour announcements, but we did catch wind of the fact that Wellington black metal outfit Bulletbelt is heading on an extensive New Zealand-Australia tour kicking off in a couple of weeks with new vocalist Jolene Tempest, check out the list of dates over here. Looking ahead to New Year's, the first line up for Rhythm and Vines festival was revealed and it's a goodie. The Gisborne-based event will see the stage graced by the likes of Danny Brown, Netsky, Action Bronson, , Chet Faker, Zane Lowe, Yumi Zouma, Team Dynamite and loads more, click here to take a peek at the current line up.

In release news, today marks the release of EPs from two Auckland bands: hardcore outfit Parents have unleashed 8-track offering Low Life,  and Black Science are coming out with Cheer Up, both of which were recorded in the depths of Wine Cellar. Post-rocker Jakob announced some details on their long-long-awaited new album. And Proton Beast let loose single 'Data' as a taster for their upcoming album Digitizer. In international news, Dinosaur Jr frontman J Mascis released a gorgeous duet with Cat Power as a sampler for his upcoming solo album. And TV On The Radio have announced new album Seeds, which will be the group's first record since their bassist Gerard Smith passed away in 2011.
