In a bad news/good news announcement, the organisers of Laneway 2015 have revealed that Swedish musician Lykke Li will unfortunately no longer be joining Laneway Festival through New Zealand, Australia or Singapore due to health reasons. However, three more acts have been added to the already incredible bill for the Auckland show, which now includes indie-pop weirdo Ariel Pink, Danish punk rock outfit Iceage and Baltimore-based producer Dan Deacon. That's definitely something to celebrate!! Here's the details...

PRESS RELEASE:

LANEWAY FESTIVAL ADD THREE MORE ACTS TO THE BILL

The Laneway Festival is sad to announce that, due to health reasons, Lykke Li is no longer able to perform at the 2015 Laneway Festival.

Lykke says:

“I'm incredibly sorry to announce that I’m no longer able to play in Australia, New Zealand and Singapore for Laneway Festival. It’s been a long time coming, but unfortunately tour life has caught up with me and it’s been recommended that I take a break. I’m devastated, but know I will return. Thank you for all the support, and I sincerely hope I can make it up to you at a later date."

Laneway Festival is excited to include Ariel Pink, Dan Deacon, Ice Age along for the ride in 2015.

Dan Deacon (NZ ONLY)

Baltimore electronic wizard Dan Deacon rocks a crowd like no other, with wild exuberance to match a team of blood-hyped hyenas and a sonic palette more sophisticated than the poshest of Spice Girls. Known for his uplifting solo shows made famous by his dogged efforts to engage crowds in dance contests and interactive games, Deacon is more magician than musician. Anyone who’s witnessed him live will tell you -- those who watch Dan Deacon together, not only stay together, but live happily ever after in a sparkly rainbow of crepe paper, unicorn breath and bubble-gum glitch.

Ariel Pink (NZ ONLY)

The world of Ariel Pink is a strange and wondrous place. The revered cassette-inspired singalong sound of Haunted Graffiti has inspired legions of imitators since its early millennium conception one dank LA night (probably in the back of your big sister’s car, as a new pink dawn caressed the earth's body). His major-label records for 4AD broke out like a nasty rash and now Ariel is back with his first ‘solo’ record, pom pom, reportedly ‘the least “solo” record I have ever recorded’. Confused? Don’t worry; his sunny melodies and deadpan lyrics will make it all okay. Ariel has written the book of song, and now he's lighting it on fire. With that fire he has cooked up pom pom. It tastes perfect, as if he’s been dining in the fanciest of restaurants only to get food poisoning and now he’s singing through the pain, just for you.

Iceage (NZ ONLY)

Barely beyond teen years of acne and awkward moments, Copenhagen goth-punk-hardcore rockers Iceage channel all that hormonal flow into making gloriously menacing music. Following the anxiety of their debut album New Brigade, these young chaps took an emotional left turn with their surprising follow-up You’re Nothing, played a bunch of terrifyingly impressive shows before holeing up in a dewy forest somewhere for a few weeks to return with Plowing Into The Field Of Love in 2014. A rollocking and romantic love letter to the unruly and grotesque, these songs fall apart into elegantly discarded pieces with an swagger only the very young and very handsome can muster. Watch, listen, and weep with either ferocious promise or drunk regret, depending on how old you are.

So,the new Laneway Auckland line-up is:

Angel Olsen - Angus and Julia Stone - Ariel Pink - BANKS - Belle and Sebastian - Bespin - Connan Mockasin - Courtney Barnett - Dan Deacon - Eagulls - FKA twigs - Flying Lotus (Layer 3) - Future Islands - HEAVY - Iceage - Jakob - Jon Hopkins - Jungle - Literal F*ck - Little Dragon - Mac DeMarco - Perfect Pussy - Princess Chelsea - Quarks! - Race Banyon - Ratking - Royal Blood - Rustie - SOHN - St.Vincent - Tiny Ruins - Vic Mensa
