Weekly Round Up: Friday 16th January

Friday 16th January, 2015 2:13PM

It's the first week back on full grind here at the UnderTheRadar offices, so welcome to the first Round Up of 2015. Things have been fairly quiet in terms of tour announcements this week, but here's what did come through: California beach-goth outfit The Growlers are returning to New Zealand for a one-off show at the end of the month. Portland four-piece The Estranged have announced three shows around the North Island for February. Also making their way around the North Island soon will be German experimental duo DŸSE, who are coming for Off The Radar Festival. And the organisers of Laneway have announced a special festival pre-party with a performance from Danish post-punks Iceage, who will be joined by Trust Punks and new Auckland act sere.

In local release news, Wellingtonian Lontalius, who is busy working on his debut album, shared a beautiful new cut called 'I Guess Itsss'. The Tauranga Music Sux label unleashed the dino erotica-themed lead single from their signees The Flaming Teabags. Recently-ish formed Auckland four-piece Bespin shared their swirling first single in anticipation of a debut EP out later this summer. And Wellington solo artist Aura has put forth tune 'Prime Time Crime' from his new EP. Looking further afield, horror director John Waters has shared a few tracks from his upcoming debut album. Space-rockers Moon Duo unveiled a single (with a video) from their new record due out in March. And Purity Ring also announced a new album for March, which is titled Another Eternity.

This week's Caught Live is hardcore outfit Slavedriver playing 'Out Of The Vault' at Chronophonium in Coromandel last weekend, you can read our review of the event over here, and watch the fan-filmed clip below...
