Stream Noel Meek's Debut Solo Release 'Onho/Death To Kali'
Noel Meek, the man behind experimental label End Of Alphabet Records, is sharing his debut solo offering Onho. The Wellington sound artist has spent years studying Hindustani classical music and Medieval chant, and has released a slew of work with FANZ and as a former member of All Seeing Hand, however Onho is his first physical solo release. From next week, Onho will be available on limited edition 8-inch lathe cut record through PseudoArcana, a label helmed by Antony Milton. Onho encompasses two lengthy tracks that contrast in nature, on the a-side Meek creates a piercing drone using the tanpura, a long-necked string instrument that is often found in Indian music, and on the flipside, 'Death to Kali' pieces together recordings of pipe organ from St Joseph's Church in Wellington which blend to form a textured wall of noise. Listen below, and head over to PseudoArcana to find out more about ordering the vinyl...
