Soulfest 2015 First Line-Up Announced

After launching in Western Springs last year, Soulfest is returning to Auckland for 2015 and has revealed a solid line-up of international acts for its first announcement. Included in the one-day festival is the likes of Mary J. Blige, Talib Kweli, De La Soul, Jill Scott, Floetry and Charlie Wilson. There will be more announcements to come between now and the October festival, but here are the details so far...

SoulFest International in association with Ginnen Group, are thrilled to announce the return of SoulFest for 2015. With good music, goodfood and good vibes, SoulFest is the only music event in Australia and New Zealand dedicated to bringing you some of the world’s finest contemporary Neo-Soul and Hip-Hop artists. This unique Music and Cultural Festival saw tens of thousands of music lovers come together peacefully in 2014 to celebrate their passion for soul and hip-hop, and this year we are pleased to announce over 20 artists and DJ’s across two stages in the serene settings of Western Springs in Auckland, New Zealand.

The first artist announcement features the spectacular Mary J. Blige who is one of the Queens of Hip-Hop and Soul music, plus the incomparable Jill Scott. Joining the leading ladies are: the beautiful and haunting vocalist Jhenè Aiko; 9 x Grammy Nominee Charlie Wilson; R&B Duo Floetry; plus new jazz star Kamasi Washington. They will be joined by Hip-Hop favourites De La Soul; Talib Kweli; Dwele; the soulful Eric Benet; Grammy nominated rapper/singer BJ The Chicago Kid and more will be announced next week.

Over 20 live acts and DJ’s will feature throughout the 10-hour day across 2 main stages. With an array of themed bars featuring fine wine and imported beers through to cafés serving excellent coffee and amazing food, SoulFest will be a unique opportunity to see and hear some of the world’s finest artists in a relaxed atmosphere.
