The Upset are Ali Koehler (ex Vivian Girls,Best Coast), Jenn Prince (ex La Sera), Katy Goodman (ex Vivian Girls, La Sera) and Patty Schemel (ex Hole). But after hearing She's Gone, you get the impression soon just being The Upset will be enough, there'll be no need for the brackets.

A mini album of 12 songs in less than 30 minutes, each track is a slice of pure punk pop perfection. Each song, bar one, runs at less than 3 minutes and packs more punch than Tyson. Take opener 'Back to School', Koehler captures that teenage boredom so well ("I sit with headphones on / staring out the windows of buses") but there's a murky underline to the lyrics that makes this the musical version of The OC.

Koehler and Prince share the singing duties and both express that same perfect combination of sweet and sour. Despite the Riot Grrl genealogy the influences here are more Juliana Hatfield & the Lemonheads than Nirvana or Hole. Though there are moments of Ramones inspired punk such as final track 'You & I'.
