Hannah In The Wars Album Release Tour

info_outline  This tour has been.

Tour Information
Songwriter Hannah Curwood originates from the stark, remote region of Central Otago in New Zealand. Recently having survived four frosty winters under the grey skies of London, Curwood is returning to the southern climes from whence she came to celebrate the release of her new album as ‘Hannah In The Wars’ with a nationwide tour.

Curwood’s work in London quickly attracted the admiration of Roger O’Donnell, keyboardist for The Cure. O’Donnell quickly became involved with the recording of new material, and this new album is the result of that collaboration. With O’Donnell’s support and guidance, Hannah In The Wars has crafted a 10-track album embodying a sense of delicacy entangled with intensity; Curwood’s powerful voice is juxtaposed with intricate arrangements of guitar, synthesizer, strings and percussion.

Previously Curwood has released 2 records, Sky Above, Horse Below (2007) and The Blind Love EP (2009). Both received to resounding critical acclaim, tracks such as murder ballad It’s Been Snowing All Winter brought attention to Hannah’s use of dark lyrics, twisted imagery and ethereal melody to earn her a place as one of New Zealand’s celebrated alternative folk writers.

Now, this coming April, Curwood’s ten date tour will showcase the hard-earned fruits of her time spent in London, and will offer an opportunity for connection with audiences from Auckland to Invercargill. Comrades Luckless and Will Wood will be joining forces with Curwood on this tour; Luckless’s unique brand of electric guitar-based indie-rock conjuring comparisons with Julia Deans and PJ Harvey; Will Wood draws on a vast history of alternative country music in his performances and his much-lauded debut album ‘Broken Man’. With these co-conspirators on board, this Hannah In The Wars album release tour will reach far and wide across the country, engaging diverse audiences with singing and storytelling of the highest standard.
