Tour Information
Saturday August 15 will see the lights of the capacious Ngaio Town Hall a-glow to host Kapiti based ‘post-folk’ duo Rosy Tin Teacaddy, who have a new EP due for release and will present their latest live incarnation exploring elements of sound design and electronica. Though exploring new sonic spaces, core to Teacaddy’s approach is still guitar and two voices intent on story-telling in song.

Cuba Street-based national contemporary dance company Footnote New Zealand Dance will perform excerpts from their NOW 2015 season, which recently performed a highly-reviewed sold-out season at Te Whaea before travelling to Auckland and Hamilton. The company will perform Oomph, by Wellington-based Anna Bate (with music by Lucy Beeler), and an excerpt of Revilery by Aucklander Natalie Maria Clark (with soundscapes by James Risbey).

Completing the line-up is award-winning writer Lawrence Patchett, who will give a reading of short stories. Lawrence’s book I Got His Blood On Me: Frontier Tales won the NZSA Hubert Church Award for Best First Book of Fiction in 2013 and he is currently working on a dystopian adventure novel set in the North Island of New Zealand.

Old Hall Gigs will also be staging a round of competitive potato chip tasting at interval, so bring your appetite for salty snacks.
