Miles Calder and The Rumours with Finn Johansson

Alt-country band Miles Calder & The Rumours are playing their first ever Auckland shows.

Nestled somewhere between Ryan Adams and 70s Neil Young, their brand of atmospheric Americana dresses Miles' heartfelt songs with striving harmonies and earthy tones.

The band have supported M. Ward, Shakey Graves and Fly My Pretties. After a year away living in New York and a solo European tour, Miles and the band are now finishing production of their first full-length album, to be released in mid 2016. They'll be playing material from the upcoming album as well as their Taite Music Prize nominated 'The Crossing Over' EP.

For their first foray in the north country, they'll be joined by long-time co-jangler Finn Johansson. He has been rambling around Europe for the last year and a half, hypnotising crowds in living rooms, bars and theatres alike, including a sold out tour through Germany and Denmark with Irish sensations Keeva.

While on an unexpected stint in Liverpool he settled into life on an 80 year old wooden ship where he wrote, recorded and self-produced 18 songs, the best of which have been distilled into his debut album, available now.

He's back in country and fresh off a successful South Island tour, and breaking a heart near you!
