Tour Information
Folk luminary Amiria Grenell joins much loved kiwi troubadour Monty Bevins on Saturday August 20 for a rare musical performance at the Yoga & Qigong School Of Sumner.

Previous touring has enabled Monty and Amiria to develop a warm collaborative show inspiring the following comments from attendees of their recent house concert: “Loved the night…world class acts, I was buzzing”. “It was the most amazing night! We loved it…so much talent and heart and goodness”. More on two of our own singer/songwriters below:

Monty Bevins is a genuine kiwi troubadour whose been living on the road since April 2014 performing his effortless blend of folk/roots/soul to communities throughout NZ. Since his support of Melbourne singer/songwriter James Kenyon’s epic 20 date nationwide in April, Monty’s been mostly tucked away writing in Dunedin, the West Coast, and Central Otago. Amiria Grenell has spent the past 10 years performing extensively at venues and arts festivals all around the country, and as a regular member of the Fly My Pretties cast. Hailing from a large musical family (her father is country legend John Grenell), Amiria’s style is a mix of dreamy folk, a touch of country and a dash of pop & reggae. Her recently released stunning third album ‘Autumn’ backs up the Tui Award winning album ‘Three Feathers’.

The quaint hall on 42 Nayland Street has been serving the community of Sumner since it’s beginnings as a Salvation Army centre in 1927. Mark Bouckoms, who received a heritage award for its preservation, opened the hall as a yoga school in 1990 through which he has offered classes, seminars, and private tuition for over 20 years.

Given its prestige we ask that there be no food or alcohol within the hall, but tea will be served and comfortable cushions provided.
