Tour Information
Kingsland Folk Club are proud to present Marika Hodgson & Ed Zuccollo, two of New Zealand's most in demand musicians, for a very special one-night-only show at the super cosy Flight 605 in Morningside.

His first Auckland solo appearance, Ed will take you on a journey of vintage analogue synths and samplers, offering up his carefully crafted solo music, while Marika's set will include some of her very own compositions and arrangements, with a sprinkling of guilty favourites for good measure, all performed by her band, who were hand-picked by Marika especially for this show.

ABOUT MARIKA:
Marika Hodgson is an Auckland based session bassist who has toured extensively throughout Europe, UK, America, Australia and New Zealand. She has toured / recorded with the likes of well known NZ acts such as Nathan Haines, Sorceress, Hollie Smith, Anika Boh & Hollie, Myele Manzanza, Tama Waipara, Iva Lamkum, Homebrew, The Means, Sisters Underground, Andy Lovegrove, Ed Waaka, Troy Kingi, Jonathan Crayford, and Moana & The Tribe, as well as international acts such as Jordan Rakei (AUS), Vanessa Freeman (UK), Deva Mahal (NYC), Fredericks Brown (NYC), Kevin Mark Trail (UK).

ABOUT ED:
Introducing Wellington-based keyboardist and producer, Ed Zuccollo. Ed is the keys player for Trinity Roots, Flite, and Tyson Smith, and has done session recording for artists from Thomas Oliver to Drax Project, and Electric Wire Hustle to Hollie Smith. In his solo show, you’ll be taken on a dynamic journey from energetic synth beats to lush ambient soundscapes, to thick funky grooves, and even the odd rap - in which you may be asked for assistance. Ed has a relaxed and charming demeanour, interspersing entertaining chat throughout the set, while his skill on the 70s Minimoog synthesizer always impresses crowds. He uses a sampler to bring you the music he has crafted in his studio, a variety of vintage keyboards, and a talkbox.
Ed Zuccollo is, in my honest opinion, one of the true masters of analogue synthesis. Not only is he technically astounding, his musicality and musical signature is second to none. When you’ve had a trip to ‘Planet Ed’ you will never want to leave! - Adam Page
