The Melbourne trio COSMIC PSYCHOS have nine studio albums under their belts since forming in 1977. “I think the Cosmic Psychos were a band that was highly influential on the Seattle so called grunge scene. I know that Kurt and Nirvana were fans, they played shows with Pearl Jam. Even thou the Cosmic Psychos never had the commercial impact or success that those bands had, they were still a major influence on them, and I think a lot of it had to do with the spirit and the sound of their music. The Melbourne-based four-piece SWIM TEAM have gained a dedicated following since emerging in early 2015, thanks to their ability to weave crunchy pop with luscious melodies. Holiday, Swim Team’s debut release, is a collection of songs dominated by bold self-reliance, bruised romanticism, and a palpable sense of frustration, building a sound heavily influenced by the 90s inflections of lo-fi indie and jangly pop.
