Everyday our lives are filled with songs. Some songs pass us by and are ignored, some songs catch hold of us and never let us go. Songs are so important to us.
We remember when we first heard this one, that one reminds us of a time or a place, a friend, a lover, a concert. This one played at my wedding, and that one will play at my funeral.
Some songs are a doorway to another place, some songs are statements. Some songs make us cry, some songs make us dance.
But where do songs come from' And what is it like for those who write them' Is it an accidental magic or hard work and total commitment' Do you either have it or you don’t'
The songwriter’s Lounge is a new live series of performances and conversations with songwriters.
Pairs of songwriters join each other on stage to present songs, and talk a little about the stories and the secrets behind the songs.
