ANSOME (PERC TRAX, MORD, S.L.A.M.//UK) [LIVE SET]

For fans of the harder industrial side of the techno spectrum the ruthless music and modular live sets of Kieran Whitefield, better known as Ansome, have been difficult to ignore over the past few years. Whitefield got his first big break on Bas Mooy’s seminal label Mord in 2014 with his ‘Penny & Pound’ EP, thrusting the young producer in to the upper echelons of European techno. This led to an EP and his debut LP on the consistently brutal Perc Trax, as well as creating intense demand for his now renowned live sets which centre on improvisation and modular synthesis. This has seen Whitefield perform in some of Europe’s most renowned clubs and festivals in his busy touring schedule - including sets at Berghain, Tresor, and Amsterdam’s ADE. Through these achievements, and his imprint South London Analogue Material, Ansome has been highly influential on the darker side of the techno scene, making us here at Haven extremely excited to host him on his first New Zealand tour. To all the dancers - be prepared for an intense experience that the Auckland techno community has not seen in decades, if ever.

Haven’s J9R will bring an all new live set to Whammy’s backroom off the back of her forthcoming release on Wellington’s End of the Alphabet. Expect to hear some of the werido left-of-field techno goodness she is quickly becoming known for!

DUCKLINGMONSTER (THE FUTURIANS//NZ) [LIVE SET]

Artist of many mediums Ducklingmonster at the start of the night will bring us her unique version of experimental noise through her lo-fi electronics - something she has honed in her work in the band The Futurians with over thirty releases and numerous live performances under their belt since the early 2000s. Make sure you make it down early for a truly alternative start to the evening.
