Tour Information
Foot-tappin' Onekaka Swamp Rock, World Famous in Golden Bay!

Golden Bay's finest local boys are rounding up and riding over to Wellington to bring their unique brand of rock, blues and ska to the Wellington for the first time.

What if swamp rock wasn't born in the Louisiana, but in Takaka you ask' What if Iggy Pop and the Stooges had been Malborough dairy farmers' What if Hendrix had settled in a Tukurua art gallery selling homemade jewelry crafted from shells and bone'
The answer to all these questions and more can be found at a Cowpokers gig - stomping, high energy music for ranchers n' dancers!

For 15 years The Cowpokers have played legendary parties, weddings, festivals, and a resident spot at the world-renowned Mussel Inn. They'll be putting on a special effort to impress, so don't miss this momentous occasion!

Featuring the Mussel Inn's brewer extraordinaire Reuben Lee, songwriter, guitarist, singer and head rancher; Jake Baxendale, saxophonist and jazz impressario; Joel Baxendale, keys player and tiny god of experimental theatre; drummer Steve Baxendale, percussion master and olive grower; Dominic Markham, fiddler, father and scotsman; and Jonny Hanlon, bassist, sailor and erstwhile don of the Collingwood Area School music program.

The Cowpokers will be joined by some very special guests - don't miss this chance to see rural rock n' roll clash with city slickers in the big smoke.
