About Ginger Brown from Wellington
Debut Album "Who Scared Who" available now at http://www.smokecds.com/cd/43652
The first Ginger Brown album “Who scared who” was released on the 1st of Aug with a performance at The Mighty Mighty. Guest Connan Mockasin performed his first theatrical and musical “Boston and Dobson” play with his old neighbor Blake Pryor. The album was recorded at Island bay studios with Nic Mcgowen at the helm. Being Lawrence and Joe’s first time in a studio and at the time Mathew was relatively new to the band. So It was a learning curve for everyone involved. Even Nic had some issues trying to isolate the buzzes and crackles of the 1960’s Hammond organ!
Other news.
Lawrence played his first solo show at The Matterhorn on sun the 20th July. There will be more solo shows to come. From Aug to Dec the live Ginger Brown experience will be on standby as Joe will be in London playing drums and being a model for Connan Mockasin, as well as working with the crew that will erect the giant inflatable tourism NZ rugby ball late Nov 08.
Mathew has been busy touring with Sam Scott and his band Bunny’s on Pony’s and Good Liaka
Ginger Brown has slowly been chipping away at their second album; the planned release is next summer. The impending date of the 20th Aug when Joe temporarily jumps ship has put the pressure on. With a five day recording project in the works, the new album will have the helping hand it needs to get on it’s way to being completed.
