Citizen Cadre

About Citizen Cadre from Auckland

Every now and then there comes a band with that unquantifiable, indefinable yet unmistakable quality that separates the good from the great. There is a true x-factor, and you either have it or you don't.

Citizen Cadre has it.

Here are 3 young men that represent the core meaning of absolute potential. Dancing somewhere between surfer folk, alternative rock and blues, Citizen Cadre is upbeat and approachable yet sharp as a tack.

The smart guitar work and seamless harmonies of cooperative frontmen and songwriters Michael 'smutland' Green and Frank Bourke are the foundation of this machine. Recent addition of drummer Nick Hensman has further geared the band up to leave dance floors a heaving sweaty mess.

Sure to gather a trail of fulfilled devotees before long, this is music that lives in that beautiful space between the nagging past and the worrying future. Whether your ears are willing or not, the incredible hooks will sink their teeth in and force total immersion into the moment. Like a cold beer on a warm Christmas afternoon these songs are so easily absorbed and enjoyed they are almost subliminal. Don't be surprised if you find yourself singing along instinctively before you know it.

After a fistful of shows to thoroughly appreciative crowds the boys are out fishing for more.
