New Friend are a fresh- faced Wellington indie-dance quartet with an unforgettable live presence. Stage invasions, frenzied raves and flagrant undressing became commonplace as the group cut their teeth at Wellington venues.

Now armed with new songs, a new drummer and more synths, New Friend have been busy infiltrating the scene in Wellington with shows at venues such as the San Francisco Bathhouse, Mighty Mighty and Bar Bodega. They have also recently embarked on a New Zealand tour, visiting the big cities in their beloved people mover.

The band formed in mid-2007, just in time to win the Wellington Rockquest regionals under their old name "Zitty". Since then they have been lucky enough to share a stage with bands like So So Modern, Cut Off Your Hands and Odessa.
