Das ben is reinventing the rules of what can be done with just an acoustic guitar, some interesting stories, and a whole lot of energy. He has been playing his own peculiar brand of acoustic punk around Wellington for years, and the punters are beginning to sit up and say 'what the F#%!'. His songs contain stories, thought-provoking images, and touch of kiwiana humour. But what makes das ben different from the usual crowd of generic singer / songwriters is his huge sound and in-your-face voice. Like Chris Knox or Billy Bragg, das ben commands attention on stage and his songs fill the whole venue, enabling him to blow whole bands off the stage. His first CD 'Million Miles Away' is to be released soon.
