About Akustik Assassin Dan Walker from Gisborne
Completely self taught guitarist, currently teaching guitar. Grew up in the Fruit Bowl Capital of NZ amongst many great muso's. (Miss my whanau from the Bay everyday....) Played in numerous cover groups around New Zealand. From Premo, Ratchet, Wailing Wailers, Metal Militia, No Frills, Charlie Ash Orchestra, MAD, and a thouand other jam sessions. Currently known as The Acoustic Assassin, a solo instrumentalist I have played before festival crowds with Ardijah, Katchafire, Renee Geyer, James Bailey Trio and opened for Paul Ubana Jones, The Checks, Blackbird, Carly Binding, Camille Te Nahu & Stuart French & others. My main sound is rather Tommy Emmanuel-ish & had the chance to chill out with him on his stage during soundcheck at the Hamilton Concert in 2006. Being of Maori descent I am working towards a Maori Mega force of Guitar laden songs for the world to embrace.
