Starfig Newton is a one-man band from Wellington, New Zealand, playing an eclectic mix of grunge, punk, goth, industrial, and metal music.
The band has been around in one form or another since 1996, but it was only in 2005 after losing a drummer to another band (which he's honestly a lot better suited to) and a bass player to overt bitchiness that it evolved into it's current form: a louder, darker, more industrial version of the previous grunge-rock band. Despite the loss of 2/3rd of it's members, SFN tries to keep it's sound as "live" as possible, by using real drum kits and keeping bass and overdub tracks recorded, not synthesized.
