Black Forest

Black Forest is a three piece black metal band from Dunedin. Formed in 2008 with Dylan Maxwell (vocals, guitar), Dan Ohs (bass, backing vocals) and Lance Downing (drums), Black Forest takes influences from old school black metal and crust punk. Alongside frequent gigging locally and in the South Island, a self recorded demo was released in 2009. The band briefly became a four piece in 2009 with the introduction of Tim Thompson from Bruer Grinder on guitar, while the new year sees a return to three with Dylan's departure to the sunny climes of Nelscum.

A full length recording is expected to be released late 2010.
