Formed in 2002, Quarter2 are an alternative, high energy, punk rock band hailing from the North Shore in Auckland. They bring all that is extreme and laid back from their everyday lives and form it into catchy, get up and go tunes that won't be easily forgotten. Quarter2 have performed and been part of numerous tours around New Zealand, sharing the stage with local acts such as The Mint Chicks, Steriogram, 48 May, Mumsdollar, Goodnight Nurse, False Start, The Bleeders, Elemeno P, Falter, The WBC, Streetwise Scarlett and many more.

They are well known in the R18 sector of shows and are continuously growing their all ages fan base. The band have also had the opportunity to open the Main Stage of the International Taste of Chaos for the New Zealand leg of the tour in 2006, sharing the stage with huge international acts such as Taking Back Sunday, Underoath, Anti-Flag, Thursday and Senses Fail.

The band recorded their latest single ‘Time Stands Still’ in March 2009 at Auckland’s York St Studios, and the track is currently on heavy rotation on The Rock radio station’s Off the Record feature. Produced and mixed by Chazz Rabble, it has also been featured as the main soundtrack on the Hyundai Summer of Surfing series that will feature as a DVD as part of the Surfing NZ magazine, and will be part of the Summer of Surfing series to be aired in March and April 2010 on the show Heke Ngaru on Maori TV.

The boys are heading off on tour in September 2009, and all 5 members say getting to the provinces and connecting with their fans that aren’t based in the main centres is something they all enjoy, and are quick to acknowledge that they wouldn’t be where they are today if it wasn’t for some of these diehard supporters. With another tour to Australia in the works for the end of the year, they are optimistic about the future, and what it holds for Quarter2.
