Pavlova & The Jandals

Pavlova & The Jandals

About Pavlova & The Jandals from Auckland

Combining alt-country, pop, folk, and rock, Pavlova and The Jandals is a collaborative project between five prolific Auckland musicians, all of whom play in other well known bands. The band formed in winter 2009 and recorded their 14 track album live over a weekend in ‘The Commune’ in the wild west of Waitakere. Their Auckland shows have been such a sold-out success that they have decided to take it on the road, to the rest of NZ. It will be the first time that the Pavlova and the Jandals crew have gathered together outside of their hometown of Auckland and they are excited to share their creations with the country.

Featuring Fleur Jack (The Twitch, Kiwi Fm), Chris Howard (The Sproutts), Simon Ross (Yebiisu, We Dunno), Joel Vinsen (Black Sand Diva), and Todd Beeby (Kitsch, Dr Colossus, Coach), Pavlova and the Jandals has a diverse and distinctly Kiwi flavour.

With four songwriters, and such a wide pool of experience and style, Pavlova and the Jandals delivers a vibrant and original show, with band members swapping instruments between sets, having a laugh and generally keeping it tight and heavily entertaining. Their sound has been described as “I'll wash, you dry”.

Pavlova and the Jandals’ debut album will be released at the Kings Arms in Newton, Auckland on 15th April. Following this show they will be travelling the country, purveying their original brand of deep, snappy and fluid dynamism at a venue near you. Do not miss it.
