PennyLane is a Christian Screamo Metal Band.
They started of as a band created just to play at rockquest 2010. The band consists of 4 members. Carl Breakwell is the vocalist for the band. He is new to the scene of music as the other boys have been in the game for a few years. Mitch Kuiti is the guitarist for PennyLane and has been a part of music his whole life. Matt Pratt is the bass guitarist for the band and has been playing with Henry and Mitch for a few years. Henry van Echten is the drummer for the band and has been working with Matt and Mitch for many years.
PennyLane was greatly supported when the band first started out and that pushed the band to go harder and learn more stuff and try attaining other heights. The band pretty much started a few years back with the main three people. Matt, Mitch and Henry have been in the same band for three years and although the mix of members coming through have stuck together and want to take the band further. There have been a number of band name changes but we have finally settled with a name that is catchy and everyone will remember.
All the band members of PennyLane attended the same college, Manawatu College in Foxton so they have a good friendship between them.
The band has played many gigs around the Manawatu and Horowhenua from concerts at the college to house parties.
The newest member to the band (Carl Breakwell) has an interesting style of vocalizing. He inhale screams. This creates a real new and twisted style to the band as the band has never had a vocalist like this.
