Incredibly, Human Instinct has been entertaining us over four decades. A band with a reputation for their explosive live performances and for the radical rock they have recorded on seven albums and nearly 30 singles. They have played alongside the giants of British rock and have been described by the music critics as legendary heavyweights of NZ rock.
The Human Instinct's brand of high-powered Rock is a testimony to the bands pedigree, diversity and professionalism revealing a raw energy and creativity which captivates the audience in a spectacular way.
With over 40 years musical experience sensational stand-up drummer and lead vocalist Maurice Greer, who with his arms and hair flying in every direction has collectively with the band honed their skills to razor sharp perfection, causing jaw-dropping performances showing once again what made the Human Instinct such a hugely popular and spectacular band around in the 70s and indeed today. Inevitably the line-up has changed with the times under his charismatic leadership and has been a vehicle for many of New Zealand’s top musicians.
Human Instinct’s sound, a melting pot of heavy psychedelic and blues rock, is absolutely their own. These veteran rockers have defined a sound that not only turns the clock back to the 70s but has managed to capture the attention of today's generation.
The Human Instinct's repertoire features original, blistering compositions and their unique signature on timeless covers from the Kinks, Joe Walsh, Pink Floyd, Jimi Hendrix and other rock legends.
