Blue Blood

Blue Blood

About Blue Blood from Auckland

Blue Blood forge forth with an innovatively powerful take on psychedelic rock. The music oozes groove and flows effortlessly from lucid soaring solos into fluid, ebbing chorus. Blue Blood deliver their modern re-incarnation of classic rock with charismatic aestheticism. Blue Blood have taken back rock and are ready to roll.

Blue Blood’s shrouded origins lie in the heart of urban Auckland, New Zealand. Originally Blue Blood was the brain child of Joel C Thompson and Simon Hole. In late 2009 the pair decided that it was time to turn back to their hard rock and bluesy roots and formed what is now Blue Blood. Over the proceeding months Blue Blood grew into a full band with Nathan Cooper joining on Keyboards, Mike West on Second Guitar and Matt Elston on Bass.

So with the musical low-rider’s accelerator firmly planted to the floor the Blue Blood journey is set for a non stop rollercoaster ride filled with tales of sex, drugs and rock and roll. Blue Blood sound can be described as the power of Ginger Baker on drums, the low end groove of John Paul Jones, the virtuous keys of Jon Lord, fused with the soaring guitar work of Hendrix and vocal embellishment of Ozzy Osborne. Blue Blood have already seamlessly composed 10 fearlessly, hard hitting retro rock numbers. The assorted love songs tell stories of wild nights with fast woman, re-encounters of heartless heart break and social commentaries on returning to the times when love was free and people’s minds were open.

Blue Blood have recorded their debut album at New Zealand’s premiere recording facility, York Street studios and the album was mastered by leading engineer Chris Winchecombe who has previously worked with The Bleeders, The Feelers, P-Money, Opshop, Goodnight Nurse, 48 May and many more of NZ’s finest bands. The demos have already sparked interest with a major label and when you get the final product in your hands you’ll understand why! The first single “The Reason” was quickly picked up by The Rock and Bay Rock Fm and is set for inclusion on a forth coming NZ on Air Kiwi Hit disc. Blue Blood’s debut release, Top Shelf Woman, is set to become an over night classic and is set for release on the 1st of February 2011.

Blue Blood have recently released their music video for “The Reason” a collaborative work of Joel C Thompson and Juice Award Wining director Anthony Plant. Videos for “Walkaway” and “Red Light Lover” are currently in production. These sexy videos feature scantly clad racks, Cadillac’s, and screaming Marshall stacks and can be found on the bands top charting youtube channel. www.youtube.com/bluebloodmusicltd

The Blue Blood tornado is set to tear the world apart in 2011. The bands booking agent has booked 16 dates in New Zealand to release Top Shelf Woman,. So no matter where you are in the New Zelaland you can be sure that your girl friends not safe, ‘cause the Blue Blood touring machine could be just around the corner!
