An impromptu cocktail party in early 2010 was the setting that drew 3 young and talented musicians together, no-one could have guessed at the time that the chance meeting of these three would be the pivotal moment in the creation of one of the most talented Rock Bands to come out of New Zealand.
Bleeding View Hail from the North Shore of Auckland, Frances Cannon and Shane Cannon cut their teeth in ‘Mild Sedation’ a Pop Punk band and were looking to branch out and develop their own sound and style.
Braeden Maclean had been in ‘KGB’ a Progressive Rock Band and after that fortuitous meeting the three got together for a jam session gelling instantly and in that seminal moment Bleeding View was born.
Rarely Have 3 individual musicians come together in such harmony, 3 sets of experiences and 3 musical influences fused in such concord. They play, write and sing the songs together, their unique mix of influences from punk and rock give them their inimitable sound and style. The mix and change of vocals from song to song or even within gives them a sound which is exceptional and memorable and will, pleasantly, leave the song in your mind long after its finished.
Bleeding Views range of musical influences are apparent in their songs, it has allowed them to create a style of their own. Each song being fresh and new yet complimenting the whole: to bring you, the listener, a new experience which you instantly warm to.
Bleeding Views stage show is indicative of their attitude to life and music. Energetic, engaging and charismatic they put their heart and soul into everything to ensure you enjoy and love it as much as they do.
It has been a busy 12 months for Bleeding View since their formation. They have been hard at work writing songs and music, their love of live performances ensure that they are out pleasing the crowds around the Auckland Music Scene. Such has been their success that Bleeding View won a fan vote to support ‘I Am Giant’ for the Auckland leg of their 2010 Summer tour. They have recorded their 1st single, ‘Last Night’ and released a video to complement it.
So what next for Bleeding View, Well the sights are set justifiably high, 2011 will see Bleeding Views First Album Release and Tour of New Zealand building on the phenomenal success of 2010. Look out for Bleeding View they are one of those bands that when you go to their Stadium gigs you can fondly reminisce ….. ‘I remember when they used to play my local.’
