About Weka from Wellington
Weka is an music producer/sound designer/installation artist based in Wellington, New Zealand.
Weka is Angus Woodhams. He started his musical journey at age 6, when he began piano lessons. From there it sparked a lifetime passion for music. He has been influenced by multitudes of artists over the years from many different
genres, and is currently trying to create a diverse range of music in order to solidify his own unique style.
He completed his Honours degree in Music majoring in Sonic Arts (or electronic music composition) at the New Zealand School of Music at the end of 2009; he then embarked on a relatively short jaunt into the edgy world of the AV industry. This was a very enlighting time for Weka and helped round out his knowledge of the industry.
In 2011, Weka aim’s to have an EP completed by August, to continue to create the best parties he can with the promotional group No Ordinary Moment along with his good friend Leo (Double Helix/Mufasa) and to continue working with the Interrupt Collective, who specialises in creating interactive audio visual installations.
