About Teknik from Christchurch
Hailing from the dirty south of Christchurch, New Zealand, Teknik is no stranger to making noise, either in the studio or the dj booth. Producing and dj'ing drum'n'bass for nearly seven years, in that time he has played support for Noisia, Phace, Ed Rush & Optical, Cause 4 Concern, The Upbeats, Psidream, Concord Dawn and State Of Mind amongst others, and has built an enviable reputation for himself in his hometown as a dj. Teknik's early production work featured on the Fabel Music compilations, 'Deep Needs Drum'n'Bass' and 'In2Deep' as well as the Empathy compilation 'Is This Code'. It was in 2006 that his international vinyl debut dropped worldwide to a great response - 'Ghobi Ghost', a collaborative effort with Wellington's The Upbeats, was battered by many dnb djs all across the globe and was released on Gridlok's Project 51 imprint. 2007 looks set to be a great year for Teknik, having collabs with The Upbeats, Bulletproof, Phace, Psidream, Dose, Trei and Menace already in the bag and releases for Project 51, Cyanide, Citrus and more set to drop in the near future.
