one million dollars is an Auckland-based soul-jazz collective with a reputation for energetic live performances. one million dollars plays all-original songs, with a sound combining elements of 70's soul, funk, disco and bossa nova, built around the songwriting skills of singer/guitarist Richard Setford. With three horns, multipart vocals and occasional lyrics in Brazilian Portuguese, the nine-piece band is bringing a fresh perspective to the New Zealand music scene

• Three Islands – Galatos 3rd Anniversary
Played with Fat Freddy’s Drop and Subware for the 3rd anniversary of one of Auckland’s most popular night spots along with top DJ’s from Auckland and Wellington.

Headline act at events promoted as a “Night of Pure Funk” with Roger Perry, Bevan Keys, Jason Rock Pig, Steve Usher, Dunc tha Funk, Cesar the Spanish Fly, Selecta Sam and Uncle Barney.
• Little Concert for Tibet
Standout act at a night to promote awareness of the Dalai Lama’s pending visit to New Zealand. The night also featured the SJD Band, Brisa Louca, Manuel Bundy, Dunc tha Funk and Cesar the Spanish Fly.
• Jazz Under the Kowhai Tree
Headlined a night of Jazz for New Zealand Music Month at the Indigo Bar in Wellington. one million dollars appeared at the invitation of Radio Active.
