Gone may be the days where bands will get up in
their old shirt, stand there and play music that no one cares about.
Not this band! Gone are the days when not only did you get great
melodic music, but a band that could entertain you and put some effort
into their shows. Well this band thrives on it! 'Malone' will shape the
way rock music is delivered in Wellington and NZ.
Not new to the game Malone are
now based in Wellington and along with their hot new act comes a new
bass player. Front man, Shayne, describes Malone's new sound: "Take The
Feelers and mix it with some Opshop, add a pound of U2 with a teaspoon
of Coldplay, stir in Bon Jovi with a dollop of Motley Crue; and
finally, sprinkle some Pink Floyd, Greenday and Linkin park and you
will arrive at this original bands powerful, catchy and hook-laden
songs".
Shayne initially fronted his
own band under his name 'Shayne Malone' and released the album 'Real
Life Games'. Real Life Games has been appropriately described as 'Bon
Jovi meets The Feelers with a good old kick in the balls'. The album
displays a powerful, full-on rock style with strong hooks and melodies.
The video for the first single, 'Touch My Soul', has received over
340,000 views to date, which makes them one of the most viewed videos
of all time in New Zealand.
Among their
many accomplishments, Malone have also opened for Opshop at Shake the
Lake in 2008 and performed an Auckland showcase for the legendary Ray
Columbus. This band is bringing back the rock and thrive on putting on
a polished and exciting live show! A definite must see for any lover of
damn good rock!
With their new album due
for release in mid '09, Malone will embark on establishing one of the
best live shows in NZ, and promoting their world class act wherever
they go.
