Having released their debut EP "Make Your Mind Up", Calamity Jam have generated an incredible buzz! Think White Stripes-style blues-rock + British Post-Punk Revival scene + some Arctic Monkeys and The Libertines thrown in for good measure. 2009 looks to be the year that will propel them even further into the NZ music scene. 2008 saw Calamity Jam playing at 95bFM's Fancy new bands Music month showcase, as well as a Red Bull Studios Live session, a North Island Tour, The Alex Manford Invitational, Several Live to Airs, heavy radio play on underground radio, and playing alongside the Likes of Clap Clap Riot, The Tweeks, Sherpa, The Earlybirds, Kittyhawk, The Randoms, and The Twitch. After a 5 month break (2/3 of the band going on Overseas Adventures) Calamity Jam are coming back strong! Plans for videos/new recordings by the end of the year, Playing at Easy's EP release Party, and playing alongside The Sneaks on their last NZ Show!
