Made In China
About Made In China from Dunedin
Made in China is rock group from Dunedin, New Zealand. The group are all senior music students / graduates of the University of Otago. Over two years of regular shows Made in China have built for themselves a formidable reputation as musicians and performers. The band’s sound ranges from heavy rock through grunge and metal, and is supported by one hell of a live show. Made in China released their debut ([semi-]self titled) EP in November 2006, (now out of print). The band has spent the intervening time developing their live show, continuing to gain fans throughout the lower South Island, and writing new material.
In February of 2007 Malcolm McMaritn joined Made in China as bassist, replacing Sam McKean in this role and allowing him to concentrate solely on his role as lead vocalist and front-man. This line-up change marked a new phase in the band's development: immediately following McMartin's joining the group the writing and pre-production for the group's second release began. The Heavy Low E.P. was released on May 7 2008 at one of the biggest local rock shows Dunedin has seen in years.
