Riverblind
About Riverblind from Wellington
In late 2005, following a number of casual performances, Daniel Simpson Beck and Dave Kempton began writing and rehearsing with a view to taking their live performance further. With the help of drummer Tim Whitta, the Riverblind journey began. Their live shows became increasingly well-attended throughout the year and this encouraged the band to record their efforts.
The first Riverblind tracks were captured during 2006 and finalised the following year in January, with mastering booked and completed in Sydney, during may 2007.
After the EP release in August, video shooting for single "Checking the Sun" began with award-winning music video director Robert Appierdo. It was quickly picked up by C4 Television and remains on rotation.
2008 saw Riverblind embark on an eventful year, with a new line-up,as Tim fulfills commitments abroad. Stepping in is Stefan Sarten, a former member of popular NZ metal band "Vatikan" and current student at the New Zealand School of Music.
In 2009 Riverblind released their first full-length album, Hour Of The Wolf.
Riverblind became a four-piece in 2010 when they added Louis Thompson-Mun on keys.
