Win a Double Pass To See Nine Inch Nails

Win a Double Pass To See Nine Inch Nails

Thursday, 22nd January 2009 12:00PM

Nine Inch Nails are heading our way in under a month for the first time in 9 years and we have scored a double pass to giveaway to one lucky UTR member.

Enter below to go into the draw and don't forget to let us know why we should give the tickets to you.

------------------

Press Release:

This show is said to be the last for NIN for quite some time and the band have handpicked a great local act to support them. The Naked and Famous will open at NIN’s NZ concert. The Naked and Famous have made quite a name for themselves in the previous year and are absolutely thrilled to be playing on this bill. Read more on The Naked and Famous at www.myspace.com/thenakedandfamous

It’s been eight years since their last performance in NZ at Big Day out 2000 and now it is with great pleasure that The Frontier Touring Company announce the return of Nine Inch Nails (NIN) for one show only in Auckland at Vector Arena on Tuesday 17 February 2009. Nine Inch Nails (NIN) is the “most popular industrial act ever” formed by founder and frontman Trent Reznor in 1989 in Cleveland, Ohio. First release, Pretty Hate Machine found an audience with rockers as well as mainstream listeners and from there spawned a 20 year career which has seen Trent Reznor receive 10 Grammy Award nominations and 2 Grammy Award wins as well as being named one of Rolling Stone’s Top 100 Greatest Rock Acts of all time. Reznor exists as the only official member of NIN. He gathers groups of skilled artists to play with him on each of his live tours yet remains as the sole musician, singer and producer on all of his recordings.

NIN and Trent Reznor have released a total of 12 albums since their conception in 1989 (four of which were remix albums). With his most recent releases in 2008, Ghost I-IV and The Slip digitally released under Creative Commons licenses, The Slip was made available as a free download on NIN website www.nin.com Currently on tour in North America, NIN are said to play homage to huge set list spanning songs from their entire career and playing for over 2 hours. This is a must see show for fans new and old.

Tickets for this un-missable concert will go on sale from 9.00am on Wednesday 10 December through Ticketmaster www.ticketmaster.co.nz (09) 970 9700 and pre-sale details will be online at www.frontiertouring.com

What do you call a cow with no legs?

i am so disappointed i only just heard about this tour!!! i have just spent my whole pay and cant afford these tikets so to win them would be absolutly amazing!!!!!

heck i would give my double pass to my boss who saw them last at the big day out i think, but the real cincher is that it will give him a break from his 5 kids so he can have a night for himself and possibly wife too.

give the tickets to me or i'll eat you

Winning these tickets would be very cool.
Having not a cent to my name makes it somewhat impossible to purchase tickets myself.
I also have an equally as poor, equally in love with NIN friend who would be ecstatic to go as much as i would.
PLEASE!!
Would be the highlight of my year, no doubt.

It would be pretty mean to get these tickets because my sister and I are heaps into NIN, plus I've always wanted to check out the sound at Vector but the base minimum $100 ticket prices thwart my well-meaning student intentions!

To be honest, who doesn't love free stuff? Whether I get em or not, Undertheradar- mucho respecto. Love your chops.

I LOVE NIN And It Would Be Amazing If I Won The Tickets. Who Knows When They Will Return To NZ?
It Could Be My Only Posibble Chance To Ever Se Them Perform Live.

I love both Nine Inch Nails and Undertheradar. Please, don't allow either to be unrequited.

the reason why it would be super awesome to get these tickets, is because im nearing my last few days in auckland and NIN is one of my best mates and mine fav bands... one of those bands where every song reminds you of a different crazy memory.
So it would be an awesome gig to go to to leave knowing it was with a bang:)

Hello - I've been a fan since 'Pretty Hate Machine' came out in 1989! I'm a bit broke so I was going to ask my boy to buy me a ticket for my birthday but if I win, it would make a great Valentine gift for him :)

NIN music has a lot of meaning to me and I was almost going to pay to go to Australia when they were last there just to see them, but I didn't and now I am too poor to see them when they are actually here, which is very upsetting :(

Because I've been stuck at the other end of the country since I was old enough to go to gigs, and I've never been to Auckland. Tickets to NIN would be a pretty good reason to make the trip up :D

Please pick me as you would have to be out of your mind to miss NIN. I don't have a good enough reason apart from this would be a celebration for my 30th birthday (just a number) I also am going to 3 other gigs that week and would love to be shouted in.

Really keen to go as I've been a fan for a while..
Like pre pretty hate machine.
In fact, I own a copy of halo one- (obviously) his first release, a maxi single of 'down in it', featuring various re-rubs..
That and I've just moved up from CHCH to study, my trailer had a blowout and my poor little car broke down twice. So, what limited funds I had to tide me over have been decimated!

I found my love for NIN in 06, listening to with teeth and the fragile as much as i could, this carried me into 07. I followed the "treasure hunt" online and kept YZ on continuous shuffle. NIN has helped me get through hard times in my life, and though im still young, i have a major appreciation for Trent Reznor and the music he produces. I wasn't allowed to go to BDO because my dads an asshole. My iPod Touch was stolen at the river, so no music :(. And on top of all this, five minutes ago, dad said he won't buy me a ticket so im stuck :(

Amoung those reasons NIN rocks, and this may be the only chance i ever get to see a band that means something to me, live.

because the iron maiden christchurch date was moved to the day I have to move into my auckland uni hall of residence, so I can't go. so I want to go up a few days early and try and catch maiden in auckland, as well as underoath and nine inch nails if i can afford it: winning these would definitely help costs!

I need these tickets because i've been wanting to see NIN forever, and i missed out last time when they played at the BDO.
Being stuck down here in Wellington, I cant afford to both get up there and buy tickets :(
But i could afford to get up there if i won tickets!

"I want to F#*k you like an animal" undertheradar and "with Teeth". That's how keen i am, please don't let me go down the 'downward spiral' cause that would "hurt", this isn't the "year zero" and there aint any "ghosts I–IV" around so don't let this be " the slip", im too "fragile and "broken" so let me win the tickets you "pretty hate machine"
Posted by hugh26 3 years ago

I'll probably be chanting "Will you bite the hand that feeds" for the next few months also.
Posted by marks 3 years ago

because im "laid back, I'll give you laid back" and NIN needs to torment the hot chip lyrics out of my brain before I go CRAZY!!!

Being a student in plenty of debt, I still would label going to this as a priority. But when you can't even find the money for some baked beans, it makes it difficult to purchase tickets for a gig that's going to be this insane!
Posted by tommov 3 years ago

user image
I've been wanting to see NIN ever since I first heard Pretty Hate Machine and I need the inspiration to help kick off my own world conquering musical legacy. I believe it will be audio spectacular. Plus I think someone needs to give Trent a hug, cause why so SERIOUS!!
Posted by tbass 3 years ago

user image
I need the tickets because it's going to be an amazing show and since there are so many concerts happening this year that I can't afford any more tickets and I am so poor I have had to give up Coca Cola and cigarettes because I can't afford them anymore.
Posted by lukin 3 years ago

user image
I need these tickets 'cos if I don't have to pay, I can keep one for myself, then hock the other one off on trademe and them spend the money on some f**kin badass drugs so I can be f**ked up at the gig, you know the weirdo dancing to a different beat up the front!
Posted by caelan 3 years ago

Because its on My 18th birhtday and ive been looking foward to turning 18 forver so i can finally start going to gigs, ive missed so many sick bands and this would be perfect to see an awesome band!would make birthday best ever!!
Posted by nzrolla 3 years ago

I already have my ticket. I got it in the presale but I have two friends who love NIN even more than me (this is by no means an easy task...but they go mental for NIN) but they can't afford to go. As it is I'm going on my own :( and they aren't going at all. It would be fantastic if we could all go together. Put this prize "Right where it Belongs"...in my mates hands. UTR rocks...almost as much as NIN
Posted by bantamboy 3 years ago

...because my young, musically blossoming self needs to experience the amazingness of a NIN concert, before another 9 years passes when who nows what the hell they'll be doing.
