Premiere: The Situations Share New Single 'Island Fever'

Globally-divided rock 'n' rollers The Situations are lifting the lid on brilliant new single 'Island Fever'. The single, which bears a certain Clash-esque quality, is being released as part of a special 7-inch pressing with another new cut called 'You Are What You Are' on the flip. Speaking to the song's genesis, the band told UTR in an email:

"We recorded this track live at Frisbee Studio, while Samuel was back in the country prior to his move to China. Glen sings the song. No one knows exactly what it's about but you, as the lyrics can be interpreted however you want. Glen was living on Waiheke island when he wrote it, but the song could be about any one, or all of the 600ish islands in Aotearoa. Or maybe it's about the dichotomy between the perceived notion of Aotearoa as a clean, green idyllic island paradise and the harsh realities of our social inequality, overcrowded prisons and environmental failings. Yeah, not sure eh. If you find Glen, can you ask him on our behalf? Chur."
