Drummer Jerry Fuchs - !!!, Turing Machine, Juan MacLean - Dies in Elevator Incident
Monday, 9th November 2009 4:41PMJerry Fuchs, Brooklyn drummer in indie bands the Juan MacLean,Turing Machine, !!! and Maserati has died following an incident in an elevator shaft.
His death was early Sunday morning after he had fallen down an elevator shaft five stories down.
Spinner reports that Fuchs was attending a loft party in Williamsburg, Brooklyn hosted by the Uniform Project. The loft was originally an old factory.
The Buildings Department spokesperson has told the New York Post that Fuchs and a friend were in the elevator when it stopped near the fifth floor. After opening the elevator door, the two friends attempted to jump from the elevator to the floor. Fuch’s friend made the jump but he did not due to a piece of clothing which got caught, “sending him swinging back into the crevice separating the elevator from the fifth floor.”
