2009 has been a great year for music but if you've been out of the musical loop of late and are looking for some good music to enjoy your summer holidays to - why not check out our Top 5 Albums of 2009 feature which includes a range of music-related people's favourite albums of year.

With the good there is always the bad - not all the releases we sent out for review came back with a favourable response from our contributors - here are some of our lowest rated reviews of the year:

Micachu and the Shapes - "Jewellery" - 4/10
Basement Jaxx - "Scars" - 5.5/10
