Press Release

Melbourne based indie/country rock variety act Potential Falcon are pleased to announce their impending tour of our nearest English speaking neighbor in January 2010. The band will be packing guitars, drums, keyboards, cables and a spare t-shirt or two before heading to New Zealand for a 10 day tour. Christchurch, Wellington and Auckland will be graced with their presence as will attendants of the most excellent Campus a Low Hum, to be held this year at an old school outside Bulls(wherever that is). The band are very pleased to be able to perform an international tour without leaving the Pacific continental plate and promise not to make fun of anyone’s accents while in country.

October 2009 saw the release of Wings on Fire, the debut album from Potential Falcon, to general acknowledgement and some approval within Australia. Featuring 10 songs of love, loss, booze and fuck-wittery, the album is a timely reminder that good songwriting and a tasty arrangement or two can trump good haircuts and a second set of Tom Toms.

In November PFalc embarked on a tour of Australia, sticking mainly to the east coast, avoiding the arid centre and mineral rich west due to an allergic reaction to heat and iron ore. The boys were given the chance to play with some truly excellent bands, including Eulogies(US), The Seabellies, Oliver Mann and Ned Collette. Fun was had, excellent food eaten, hangovers attained and dealt with and crowds were satisfied.

So on they rush! To 2010, to New Zealand, to album number two and to the acquiring of bigger beards and more guitars.
