Cobra Khan announce new album Sleepless Lions + tour

Thursday 31st August, 2006 2:54PM
Now a year together, Auckland based Cobra Khan prepare to release their debut release. Having established a strong reputation for a tight set and infamously loud stage performance, September 2006 heralds the release of ‘Sleepless Lions’, a much anticipated first recording.

Together since August 2005, Cobra Khan has established itself as a force to be reckoned with, touring with legendary local punk band Kitsch and hardcore punk outfit the Bleeders. January saw the band playing the New Zealand stage of the Big Day Out and they have since provided support for international music heroes the Misfits and dirty rock veterans Nashville Pussy. Two videos from the band, ‘Wrapped in Plastic’ and the more recent ‘Black Box’ – filmed in New York, have received massive air play on C4, Juice and Alt TV, with both singles receiving solid airplay on local radio networks as well. With a new video up for the forthcoming single ‘Runaway’ due for release later this month, our appetite for this band has been well and truly whet.

With 2007 just around the corner, we can only expect to see more and more from Cobra Khan. ‘Sleepless Lions’ in stores 18th September 2006, expect the volume knobs to be set on full.
