Press Release:

At the start of this year The Temper Trap gave Australian and New Zealand audiences a taste of why they were one of the most talked about bands in the world last year with standout performances across a series of summer festivals. Fans clamoured for more and the band paid attention, making room in a hectic worldwide tour for July 2010 dates in Sydney, Melbourne, Perth and Auckland.

2010 is already shaping up to be a busy one, with The Temper Trap currently on tour across America. Conditions is sitting at #4 on the Billboard Heatseeker chart, while some of the biggest radio stations in the USA have set Sweet Disposition to high rotation. The buzz around the band is audible with a sold out six week US tour and appearances at SXSW, Coachella and Bonnaroo sure to earn the band even more supporters. Notably US music industry bible Billboard Magazine profiled the band in a double page ‘Happening Now’ feature in their February 20 issue, noting “The Temper Trap are shaping up to be the next big thing from Down Under.”

The UK story also continues to grow from their Top Ten hit with Sweet Disposition last year, with the band selling over 33,000 tickets to their UK tour, including an impressive three nights at Shepherds Bush Empire. The band are also headlining the Wireless Festival, as well as performing at T In The Park and Rosekilde festivals.

Worldwide sales of Sweet Disposition have now exceeded 500,000, while album sales for Conditions have tipped over the 300,000 mark.

If The Temper Trap’s festival performances were mass sing-a-longs, then these July shows are set to take The Temper Trap to a whole new level with four acclaimed singles now under the band’s belts. Soaring Platinum hit Sweet Disposition, rocking tracks Science of Fear and Fader and the latest anthemic offering Love Lost are sure crowd favourites, while album Conditions has become a staple on iPods and radios across both countries.

With their album fast approaching Platinum sales in Australia there’s little doubt that The Temper Trap have won the hearts of music fans. Significantly though, the band have delivered more than just a standout debut album, with music critics praising the quality and energy of the band’s live performances.

There’s little doubt that The Temper Trap’s upcoming July concerts are going to be must-sees on the 2010 concert calendar. Tickets for Sydney, Melbourne, Perth and Auckland go on sale on Monday 29 March at 9am local time.

Pre-sale tickets will be available via frontiertouring.com from noon AEDT Thursday 25 March to noon AEDT Friday 26 March.

Australian ticket buyers through Ticketek and Ticketmaster will also have the opportunity to purchase Conditions at a special discounted price at the time of ticket purchase.
