Finalist: Lee Prebble, for Fly My Pretties’ The Return of Fly My Pretties.

Best Producer

Winner: Bic Runga for Birds by Bic Runga;

The People’s Choice Award

Finalists for the People’s Choice Award in 2006 are Pluto, Fat Freddy’s Drop, Frontline, Elemeno P, Bic Runga and Goodnight Nurse

Members of the public can vote for their favourite artist by TXT:

* TXT “Choice” and then
o A for Pluto
o B for Fat Freddy’s Drop
o C for Frontline
o D for Elemeno P or
o E for Bic Runga
o F for Goodnight Nurse
* Send the TXT to 3950
* Voting opens at midnight on Wednesday September 6, 2006 and closes at midnight on Friday October 13, 2006.
* TXT votes cost 50c each.
No finalists are announced for the Highest Selling NZ Single, The Warehouse Highest Selling NZ Album and NZ on Air Radio Airplay Record of the Year awards.

Tuis awarded at separate functions throughout the year, and again recognised at the main gala event on October 18 are Best Folk Album, Best Pacific Music Album and Best Country Music Album.

The Best Jazz Album Tui is to be presented at the Wellington International Jazz Festival in November and the winner will be acknowledged at the New Zealand Music Awards 2007.
