Friday 4th June, 2010 8:44AM

Things keep on rolling for the revived Flying Nun label as Dunedin band Die! Die! Die! announce that their new album Form is set for release soon on the iconic label.

The band is also giving away the first single from the album, 'We Built Our Own Oppressors', for free from right HERE until June 11th.

You can watch the accompanying video for the song below, which looks like it was filmed on a rooftop on a very average looking day in New York.

PRESS RELEASE

After over a year of touring, recording and some more touring, Die! Die! Die!, return with a new single, video and record label.

Having signed to Flying Nun Records, Die! Die! Die! are now set to release their new album FORM via the revived label.

‘We Built Our Own Oppressors’ is the first single from the upcoming album, and was written while holed up during winter at Dunedin’s infamous Chicks Hotel.

Dunedin isn’t the only Flying Nun connection either, with FORM being produced and recorded by Nick Roughan from The Skeptics.

Both the single and the album have plenty of the Die! Die! Die! style of cataclysmic punk, yet, with the help of Roughan, the band have also crafted a new, more densely layered sound combined with a haunting melody.

Released last year on a limited edition 7” single through UK’s Too Pure Records, ‘We Built Our Own Oppressors’ has already got many ears listening. To celebrate its New Zealand release the band are giving the song away for free till next Friday (June 11), just visit: diediedie.bandcamp.com to download.

The video for ‘We Built Our Own Oppressors’ was made during the band’s tour of the USA last year. After filming, one person mentioned that it had; “a very international rock star look about it.” While, Die! Die! Die! just thought they were keeping the budget down by breaking into a apartment building.
